Caroline Streck selected for inaugural Chelsea MA Studio Award 2016/17
Caroline Streck has been selected for the inaugural Chelsea MA Studio Award.
The selection panel included artist and alumnus Haroon Mirza, and award donor Patrick Lynch. Speaking about Caroline’s selection, Haroon Mirza said, “We all thought that Caroline showed a great deal of ambition and commitment towards her work. It was clear that she would take the opportunity and really use it to develop her focused practice that seems to be on an interesting trajectory."
Building on Acme’s long-standing partnership with Chelsea College of Arts, the award aims to recognise the relationship between education, learning and continuing professional development. It also reflects the increasing emphasis art schools place on supporting graduates after they have completed their studies.
Part of Acme's Residency & Awards Programme, the Chelsea MA Studio Award is one of seven awards offered by Acme in partnership with Universities across London, which provide a one-year rent-free shared studio in Acme's Warton House in east London. All of the selected artists benefit from and contribute to the peer support of other graduate awardees. Additionally they receive a bursary and access to a programme of studio visits by other professionals, curators and experts that provides guidance and encourages support.
