Acme Studios, supporting art and artists since 1972

Australia Council for the Arts

In partnership with Acme Studios, the Australia Council for the Arts began operating a residency for Australian-based visual artists in 1992. Managed by Acme on behalf of the Australia Council for the Arts, the residency is located Bow, E3, an area at the centre of East London's thriving art scene, in close proximity to the Bethnal Green and Hackney Wick areas.

For a period of three months artists are based in a mezzanine work/live studio in Bow, along with Acme international residencies from Canada, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland. Acme provides practical, networking and cultural assistance to the artists throughout their residencies, assisting them to make the most of their residency opportunity.

Current artist: Helen Johnson

Residency awards are open to all Australian-based artists. Applications and selection are dealt with directly by the Australia Council for the Arts. For further information and application details see www.australiacouncil.gov.au
