Acme Artist Housing - open for applications
Studio 213 at High House Artists' Studios
Studio 213 at High House Artists' Studios

Applications are being received for three residential artist studios at High House Artists’ Studios, Purfleet, RM19 1TT. The units form part of Acme's Artist Housing Programme which makes available up to 22 residential artist studios at a fixed monthly rent for five years, across three sites in Lambeth, Tower Hamlets and Thurrock.

Since it was founded in 1972, Acme has provided pioneering work/live opportunities for artists. The Artist Housing Programme aims to provide artists with greater financial security and predictability. Applications are welcome from artists from across the UK who have been making work for five years or more who can demonstrate both a financial and practical need and a potential transformational impact on their career.

Each residential studio at High House measures 52 square metres in total divided into an area approximately the size of a small double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, a kitchen with electric hob, oven, microwave and fridge; and a large open plan work/live area.

The rent for each residential studio is £600 per calendar month fixed for the length of the five year tenancy. This includes any business rates (on the studio element), building insurance, water, maintenance, communal electricity and cleaning, caretaking and management.

The residential studios are located on the top floor of a new-build development, High House Artists' Studios which opened in 2013, containing 40 purpose-built artists’ studios managed by Acme.

The building is located within the High House Production Park, a world-class centre for technical skills, crafts and artistic production and sits next to the Royal Opera House Bob and Tamar Manoukian Production Workshop. Other buildings in the park include the Royal Opera House Costume Centre, the National Skills Academy Creative & Cultural Backstage Training Centre, the High House barns which provide meeting and exhibition spaces, and a café in the old stable building.

Viewings will take place on: Saturday 14 April and Saturday 28 April 2018 from 11.30am

Closing Date for applications: 5pm Monday 14 May
