Future Studios
Acme's commitment to providing high-quality, secure and affordable studio space, inevitably means demand for an Acme studio is very high.
In order to meet the demand from artists, we are continuously seeking new development opportunities to create permanent low-cost studio space. We currently have seven major projects in development which will deliver 200 high-quality, long-term and affordable studios over the next two-and-a half years. We are happy for artists to express an interest at this stage. These projects include:
Matchmakers Wharf, Homerton, E9
49 studios as part of a major scheme to provide retail, commercial and 209 residential units (40% affordable). Construction is underway and the studios will be available from June 2012.
The studios are the final part of a major grant to Acme from Arts Council England’s Grants for the arts – capital programme, which will contribute towards the creation of 180 permanent affordable artists’ studios across London by 2012.
Warton House, High Street Stratford, E15
27 studios in a landmark listed building, Warton House, as part of a project involving 655 residential units and over 13,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. The studios will be available from Late 2012.
High House Production Park, Purfleet, Essex
40 studios, including four work-live units, as part of a £2m project developed in partnership by High House Production Park and Acme Studios. The studios form part of a growing campus which includes the Royal Opera House Production Workshop and the National Skills Academy for Creative and Cultural Skills. The project is the subject of an Arts Council England capital funding bid and, if successful, the studios are anticipated to open in 2013.
