Acme, supporting artists since 1972

Acme Project Space

The Acme Project Space ran from June 2009 to December 2015. It provided an opportunity for those artists who are part of our Residency & Awards Programme and our International Residencies Programme with a public space within which to develop projects, show new work and engage in a critical dialogue with a wider audience.

Curated by first year MA Curating Contemporary Art (Inspire), Royal College of Art in partnership with Acme Studios.

'Contort Yourself' brings together the work of three UK based artists who twist, stretch, and re-appropriate the construction of self, through performance, digital video and sound.

Presenting video work by artists David Blandy and Harold Offeh, alongside a new sound commission by Jan Hendrickse, 'Contort Yourself' and its accompanying programme of events will explore the idea of an ‘authentic’ self-realisation, and critique processes of identity formation and re-formation.
