Acme Studios, supporting art and artists since 1972

National Support, Advice & Resources

Acme Studios has a long history of supporting the artists’ studio provider sector through advice, research and associated publications. Since the 1970s, Acme has been acutely aware of the need for organisations to pool resources and information.

Acme has consistently shared its experience with others and continues to provide free advice on all aspects of the acquisition, development and management of affordable accommodation for artists. With the development of an extensive residency and awards programme, advice also extends to this area of activity as well. Advice is available to individuals and groups of practitioners, studio organisations, local authorities, indeed all those with an interest in helping to develop affordable space for artists.

Acme Studios works with a number of agencies, including Arts Council England, to provide advice and other services for the benefit of the affordable artists’ studios sector. It has a defined working relationship (Memorandum of Understanding) with the National Federation of Artists’ Studio Providers to ensure, through the sharing of knowledge and understanding, that those seeking advice receive the best possible service.
